Colombia Reopens Mining Areas for Potential Investment

On 6 November, reports indicated that Colombia had lifted restrictions affecting 15 special mining districts covering approximately 5.3 million hectares. The Colombian Mining Association estimated the policy change could unlock US$4.7 billion in mine construction and US$350 million in annual exploration spending; these are estimates, not committed investments. HPC can support regulatory reviews, compliance assessments and mining-sector due diligence.
